Eibar beat Elche (2-1) and harvest their first victory of the season

Eibar reaped its first victory of the 2023-2024 season after beat Elche 2-1 in Ipurua this Saturday August 1 in the match corresponding to the 2nd day of LaLiga Hypermotion.
Eibar started well, since in minute 4 a great goal from Ager Aketxe (1-0)after a cross from Tejero, ended up slipping through the squad of the goal defended by Édgar Badia.
Eibar wanted to take advantage of the situation and in the 18th minute Rahmani was about to transform a cross from Tejero into a goal, which the Franco-Algerian narrowly missed. Both teams had chances to score, but neither succeeded and the gunsmiths went into the break with a goal ahead.
At the start of the second half, equality prevailed and there were few scoring chances. However, in minute 62 the referee signaled penalty in favor of Elche by hand of Matheus Pereira within the area. LLucas Boyé made it 1-1 on the scoreboard after beating goalkeeper Luca Zidane from 11 meters.
After the tie, Eibar went on the attack, and in the 77th minute Mario Soriano scored the goal that made it 2-1 for gunsmiths. The cross shot from the Eibar player entered the rival goal without Badía being able to do anything.
In the final stretch, the team led by Joseba Etxeberria held off well against Elche’s attacks with good defensive work. Even so, the visiting team had one last chance in discount, but Nicolás Castro’s shot went wide.
In the end, victory for Eibar with a result of 2-1.
