Russian mixed martial arts fighter (MMA) Oleg Taktarov commented on the draw in the boxing fight with American Jeff Monson. The athlete’s words are quoted by Match TV.

“In fact, there are 105 kilograms of pure muscle. I warn everyone: don’t look at Jeff. Maybe he outwardly breathes harder than I do, but he can play for hours, ”said Taktarov, adding that he liked the opponent’s physical form.

The Russian also spoke about the violation of the rules during the fight. Both athletes used wrestling techniques several times. “I think we will test each other in MMA. A man knocked me down – should I stand and be silent? He showed that I can do that too, ”said Taktarov.

The fight between Taktarov and Monson took place as part of the REN TV Fight Club tournament in Moscow. The fight lasted three rounds and ended in a draw.

55-year-old Taktarov is known for his performances in the early tournaments of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He became the winner of one of them, defeating Tank Abbott in the final of UFC 6: Clash of the Titans in 1995. In his professional career, he won 17 victories, suffered five defeats. Two more fights with his participation ended in a draw. The 52-year-old Monson has 60 wins, 26 losses, one draw. Another fight of the athlete was declared invalid.
