The promoter said that Taktarov’s next opponent could be Juan Torres
Promoter Vladimir Khryunov named the next opponent of the 55-year-old Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Oleg Taktarov. His words are quoted by Metaratings.
“Now we are solving the issue with the Mexicans. I have a link to the group. If they put up their fighter, you will understand everything that happened to him in Mexico. The opponent’s name is Juan Torres,” Khryunov said.
On August 18, Taktarov will fight fighter Jeff Monson, who has renounced his US citizenship. The fight will become the co-main at the REN TV Fight Club tournament. As part of the main fight of the evening, Russian Vyacheslav Datsik and Briton Oli Thompson will enter the octagon.
Taktarov is known for his performances in the early tournaments of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He became the winner of one of them, defeating Tank Abbott in the final of UFC 6: Clash of the Titans in 1995.
