France turns on Spain and is champion of the League of Nations

France became the comeback team. On Sunday night, the current world champion woke up after conceding a goal and won the League of Nations title over Spain, with the score 2-1, at San Siro Stadium, in Milan, Italy.

In addition to the cup, the French expanded the undefeated series. The last regular-time defeat of a match was in June 2019, in the qualifiers for Euro-2020, against Turkey. Since then, 25 official matches without losing in normal time.

This Sunday, after a disappointing first half of the two teams, the final stage was played at a blistering pace.

At 18, Theo Hernández, in the middle of the area, hits the crossbar. On the counterattack, Oyarzabal opened the scoring with a beautiful cross kick.

But the Spanish party was short-lived. At 20, Benzema sent him on the plate, at the angle and left everything the same.

The turn came at 34, with Mbappé. Theo Hernández left shirt 10 in front of the goal. The PSG star pedaled and crashed under Simón.

The move drew attention due to the suspicion of offside, but the play was confirmed. The lines drawn were not shown by the broadcast before the end of the dispute.

The final minutes were a lot of pressure from Spain, but goalkeeper Lloris came up with two great saves and didn’t allow the title to go to the other side.

In the end, a lot of celebration of the current world champions.
