This Wednesday, Australia and England duel for a place in the final of the Women’s World Cup. The semifinal will be played from 7 am (Brasília time), at Accor Stadium, in Sydney, Australia.
The match will be broadcast on Cazé TV, on the You Tube and Twitch video platforms, and on Fifa+, a streaming service. Fans will also be able to follow the game in real time here on the Sports Gazette.
The team that wins this Wednesday’s clash will face Spain in the grand final of the World Cup. In case of a tie in normal time, the semifinal will be decided in extra time or in a penalty shootout.
Owner of the house, Australia exceeded expectations and left behind the favorites France, Denmark and Canada. The campaign becomes even more surprising due to the fact that the Australian team does not have its star Sam Kerr 100% physically.
The striker has yet to start playing in the World Cup and has not played in the group stage. In the knockout stage, Kerr entered the final ten minutes of the victory over Denmark and spent more than an hour on the field in the quarterfinals against France, in which he triumphed on penalties.
“She’s already had more minutes than I expected, to be honest. That was fantastic, both mentally and physically. She trained today, recovered well and is available for the game. She will be ready, whether it’s to play the full 90 minutes or extra time,” said coach Tony Gustavsson at a press conference on Tuesday.
Four clean sheets in five matches.

On the other hand, England arrives as favorites to win its first World Cup, a year after lifting the women’s Euro Cup trophy. During the Cup, the Lioness they beat Haiti, Denmark and China, and eliminated surprises Nigeria and Colombia.
England will not see the return of striker Lauren James for the semi-final as she received a three-match suspension after receiving a red card against Nigeria. However, it has the attacking duo of Hemp and Russo, who scored both goals against the Colombians.
“There was always pressure, whether it looks that way from the outside or not. I think for us, that’s what drives us. That’s what gives us the determination to always challenge ourselves, be better, grow. The journey has been long and difficult, but without those experiences you don’t develop, you don’t learn and you don’t rise to higher levels,” said England captain Millie Bright.
