Arsenal confirm signing of Spanish goalkeeper David Raya

Even after debuting in the Premier League, the Arsenal confirmed yet another reinforcement for the season. The name of the time is that of goalkeeper David Raya, who was at Brentford and arrived on a one-year loan to the Londoners with an option to buy at the end.

The Spaniard was one of the highlights of the last Premier League, attracting the attention of several English clubs. Raya even negotiated with Tottenham, but ended up settling with Arsenal and will wear the number 22 shirt in his new team.

The arrival of the new archer is related to the need for a shadow for starter Aaron Ramsdale. His former reserve, who was the American Matt Turner, was traded to Nottingham Forest in this window.

To have a replacement at the height, Arsenal opted to bring Raya and raise the dispute in the team’s goal. Although Ramsdale had good games during the last season, the board considered that he needed competition to maintain the same level in his performances.

This was the club’s fourth signing this window. In addition to Raya, Arsenal have already signed defender Jurrien Timber, defensive midfielder Declan Rice and attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.

The team debuted in the Premier League last Saturday, with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. Arsenal’s next commitment will be next Monday, against Crystal Palace.
