Guler “underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee under the supervision of the Real Madrid medical department,” the Madrid club said in a brief statement.
Real Madrid did not give a deadline for the return of the player, limiting itself to stating that he “will begin his recovery process in the coming days”.
According to the Spanish press, the 18-year-old Turk is expected to be sidelined for a period of one and a half to two months.

Signed at the beginning of July from Fenerbahce for 20 million euros (R$ 107 million at current exchange rates), Arda Guler suffered a meniscus injury in Real Madrid’s first training sessions during the pre-season tour of the United States.
The Spanish club then opted for conservative treatment, but last Friday coach Carlo Ancelotti already admitted the possibility of surgery.
“If he has surgery, the recovery time will be very short. Arda’s problem is very small and I think it’s possible to recover very quickly,” said the Italian.
In addition to the young Turk, the Brazilian defender Éder Militão and Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will also have knee surgery. Both suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in their left knee and will be out of the team for most of the season.
