Deputy Svishchev called the decision of Ukraine to participate in the 2024 Olympics correct
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Svishchev appreciated the statement of the President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine Vadym Gutsait, according to which the country will perform at the 2024 Games in Paris. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
The MP called the decision correct. In his opinion, the Ukrainians can compete with the Russians. “Now they realized that these decisions were useless. There are no irresolvable differences between our athletes, ”said Svishchev.
Earlier on August 14, Gutzeit said that Ukrainians are obliged to perform at the Olympic Games in Paris. He stressed that the Ukrainian side would agree to participate in the Games, subject to the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes in a neutral status.
The Olympic Games are to be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The question of the participation of Russian athletes in competitions has not yet been resolved.
