Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga of Chelseawill be loaned to Real Madrid in the 2023/24 season to take the place of injured Belgian Thibaut Courtois, following an agreement between the clubs.
“Real Madrid CF and Chelsea FC have reached a loan agreement for the player Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is linked to the club during this season, until June 30, 2024,” announced the Spanish club in a statement.

The Chelsea goalkeeper, who was almost traded to Bayern Munich, was chosen to replace Courtois, who last Thursday ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper arrives in this way at the club that almost signed him in 2018, but the statements by the Real Madrid coach at the time, Zinedine Zidane, that he did not need a goalkeeper prevented the negotiation.
The new goalkeeper will be presented on Tuesday by Real Madrid.
