Kanchelskis said that Golovin will appear in the RPL if the clubs return to European competition
Former Russian national team player and legendary Manchester United player Andrey Kanchelskis called the condition under which Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin may consider returning to the Russian Premier League (RPL). It is reported by Metaratings.
According to him, the midfielder may think about it if Russian clubs return to European competition. “He plays in a team that can claim the first place in Ligue 1, plays in the Champions League and the Europa League, where are we playing?” Kanchelskis said.
Golovin has been playing for Monaco since 2018. Portal Transfermarkt estimates his value at 28 million euros.
On February 28, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA) excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not play in European competitions, and the national team has lost its chances to participate in the 2022 World Cup.
