“After seven years in the same organization, there are many different emotions when tackling a new challenge in 2024. However, already knowing many faces within the Lidl-Trek organization, and having had conversations with Luca Guercilena (CEO of Lidl-Trek), Trek), Josu Larrazabal (Director) and Elke Weylandt (Head of Operations) in recent weeks, I am looking forward to this new chapter of my career in 2024,” said Geoghegan Hart.

“The team has big goals, and partners who are willing and able to support those ambitions. I believe I still have a lot to grow as an athlete and I have shown in 2023, up until the injury, what I can do as a leader. I am incredibly motivated to relive that feeling,” he said.

For his part, Lidl-Trek CEO Luca Guercilena expressed his enthusiasm for the arrival of Tao Geoghegan Hart: “His dedication and resilience epitomize the spirit of Lidl-Trek. We are delighted to welcome him to our team. As Tao embarks on this new adventure, we stand united in our commitment to push boundaries, achieve greatness, and create a legacy of excellence.”

Currently, Geoghegan Hart is in Amsterdam, in full recovery from the injury caused by the fall he suffered in the 2023 Giro d’Italia; the Briton had to abandon the race in the eleventh stage, when he was in third place in the general classification.
