Taffarel was recently hired by Liverpool to be the team’s goalkeeper coach. At a press conference this Friday, coach Jurgen Klopp explained the decision and cited the fact that the four-time champion in 1994 works with “two of the best goalkeepers in the world”, Ederson, from Manchester City, and Alisson, from the team, at Brazilian Team.
“A really nice guy. I got the idea a while ago when I saw all of our extremely talented goalkeepers. We wanted a solution for them (goalkeepers), not just for them, but for them too, and we want to create our own philosophy of goalkeepers,” began saying the German coach.
“For that, we think it makes sense to mix the fact that he was a world class player and that he currently works with two of the best goalkeepers in the world, Ederson and Alisson (in the Brazilian national team). So we talked to Alisson and he liked the game idea. We spoke with Taffarel and he also liked the idea. He is a brilliant person and he is older than me, which is important, as I was the eldest on the technical committee”, completed and joked the commander.
Liverpool returns to the field this Saturday, at 12 pm (GMT), against Wolverhampton, for the Premier League. Currently, Klopp’s team is in third position in the table, with 31 points.
