The head of Pyunik Soghomonyan said that Poland does not let Russians into Sweden because of politics
Pyunik Yerevan President Artur Soghomonyan appreciated the refusal of the Polish embassy to issue Schengen visas to Russians in the team – midfielder Mikhail Kovalenko and coach Roman Monarev. His words leads “Championship”.
“Yes, ours were not allowed again [в Швецию], since visas in Armenia are issued by the Polish Embassy,” Soghomonyan said. The head of the team stressed that this is the policy of the state.
On July 20, Kovalenko and Monarev missed the away meeting of the Conference League against the Estonian Narva Trans. It was clarified that they could not get Schengen visas. Later it became known that both would not be able to take part in the away match of the second qualifying round of the Conference League in Sweden with Kalmar.
Kovalenko is a graduate of the St. Petersburg “Zenith”. Together with the Armenian Noah, he became the owner of the Cup and the Super Cup of the country. The footballer started playing for Pyunik in August 2022.
