This Monday, at the Hindmarsh Stadium, the Brazilian Team thrashed Panama, 4-0, in his debut in the Women’s World Cupin a duel valid for Group F. Team coach, Pia Sundhage praised the performance of the entire squad against the Panamanians.
“I tell them that the first game is always difficult. Four goals and we played very well. I’m very happy”, said the Brazil coach in a post-game interview with SportTV and to Fifa.
The Swede also highlighted the performance of Ary Borges, who on his debut in the World Cup, scored a hat-trick in the duel, scoring all the goals with his head.
“I think she’s very happy too, she scored a hat-trick and played very well, so today we’ll have to buy her dinner”, joked Pia, who opted to start the duel with Marta on the bench.
Now, the Brazilian team is back on the pitch against France, next Saturday. The clash is scheduled for 7 am (BrasÃlia time), at the Lang Park Stadium, in Brisbane, Australia. The confrontation marks the duel between the two big favorites for the leadership of Group F, which also has Jamaica and Panama.
