Argentine football players of Orenburg Lucas Vera and Brian Mansilla want to obtain Russian citizenship. This was told to TASS by the sports director of the club of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Dmitry Andreev.
According to the functionary, the team has a tight schedule, so there is no time to resolve this issue yet. “Let’s see, we’ll roll a little, we’ll get into the rhythm, maybe we’ll get busy,” Andreev added.
Mansilla and Vera have been playing for Orenburg since the summer of 2022, both have never played for the Argentina national team. On July 23, the Argentines entered the field in the match of the first round of the RPL of the 2023/2024 season against Spartak (2: 3). Vera scored an assist.
In January, Brazilian Zenit footballers Malcolm and Claudinho received Russian citizenship. Malcolm has been with the Blue-White-Blues since 2019, Claudinho since 2021.
