In a friendly played this Sunday, the Manchester City faced Yokohama Marinos and won by 5 to 3. Stones, Álvarez, Haaland (twice) and Rodri were responsible for the victory of the English, while Anderson Lopes, Matsubara and Inoue scored for the Japanese.
The duel played at the National Stadium of Japan, in Tokyo, had a very balanced first half. Yokohama opened up two goals ahead in the 37th minute, but saw City equalize before half-time.
In the second stage, coach Pep Guardiola changed the entire team and put striker Erling Haaland on the field. The Norwegian scored with seven minutes on the field and led the Manchester team to victory. The Japanese even sketched a reaction at the end, but it was ended by another goal from the center forward in stoppage time.
This was Manchester City’s first pre-season commitment. The current Champions League champions will return to the field next Wednesday, in a match against Bayern Munich, which will also take place in Japan.
