Independiente del Valle was defeated this Saturday by Getafe (2-1) in the third friendly match on the tour of Spain.

Borja Mayoral scored the first goal in the 60th minute, Kevin Rodríguez temporarily equalized in the 78th minute, and Jaime Seoane restored the lead for the Azulón team in the 84th minute.

The match was played behind closed doors at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas, a sports complex managed by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

The Negriazus came to the match as an international camera team in South America, with cup experience and very cautious considering the performance shown last Tuesday against Sevilla FC in the UEFA-Conmebol Club Challenge Cup held at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium.

The champion of the Copa Sudamericana-2022 forced the current ruler of the Europa League to define the game on penalties after a 1-1 tie in ninety regulations. He eventually managed to beat Sevilla 4-1 in a shootout, but the international who lifted the South American Cup Winners’ Cup in February got him into trouble.

Independiente del Valle looked vulnerable as Getafe went on the attack and faked a long-range opener when captain Lorenzo Faravelli missed goalkeeper Moisés Ramírez’s split ball. Aleñá played with Maksimović, and the latter sent it diagonally to Borja Mayoral, who arrived with an empty goal to make it 1:0.

The team under the leadership of Martín Anselmi kept the game plan and had a chance to score in the 78th minute after an unfortunate action by goalkeeper David Soria, who came out of the goal and deflected a short shot by defender García Bassa. Rodríguez took the ball and shot at the empty goal from a considerable distance for 1-1.

But José Bordalás’ Getafe took the lead again when the Ecuadorian team’s defense cleared a shot from the Soria goalkeeper who had previously turned the midfield. Santi recovered from a lopsided clearance from García Bassa and holding the ball on the edge of the penalty area, he passed to Jaime Seoane to beat Ramírez.

In this way, Getafe added three from three in this pre-season in which they managed to add victory in the three friendly matches they played. Meanwhile, Independiente del Valle accumulate their second defeat, having conceded a 3-1 loss to Orlando Pirates of South Africa at the start of their expedition in Marbella.

Both casts are preparing for competitions in their respective countries and continents. In the case of the Ecuadorians, the Pro Series A League and the Round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores.

Independiente del Valle took the field with Moisés Ramírez in goal; Sánchez, Landázuri, Mateo Carabajal, Cabezas, Beder Caicedo, Joao Ortiz, Lorenzo Faravelli, Michael Hoyos, Kevin Rodríguez and Marcelo Moreno Martins.

Getafe appeared with David Soria; Đene, Domingos, Mata, Portu, Aleñá, Alderete, Maksimović, Iglesias, Patrick and Gorka.
