Samara “Wings of the Soviets” defeated the Grozny “Akhmat” in the match of the first round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
The meeting was held in Grozny at the Akhmat-Arena and ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the guests. In the 13th minute, Samara striker Benjamin Garre opened the scoring. In the 85th minute, midfielder Sergei Babkin increased the team’s lead. In the fifth minute added to the second half, Akhmat’s gap was reduced by forward Hamid Agalarov.
Last season RPL “Akhmat” took fifth place in the standings with 50 points. Krylya Sovetov were in 12th place with 32 points. Petersburg “Zenith” became the winner.
In the next round, Akhmat will host CSKA Moscow on July 30. “Wings of the Soviets” will also meet at home with the Moscow “Dynamo” the day before.
