The twentieth and penultimate stage of the Tour de France 2023 the Saturday July 22leaves Belfort and ends in Le Markstein Fellering and has a 133.5 kilometer route. Its layout presents up to six scoring ports for the mountain classification, two of them, the last, of 1st category. It is a great stage, in which, except for a great surprise, everything that remains to be decided in the general classification will be sentenced.

The race will take place in the Vosges, in Alsace. It’s not a long day, but the cyclists, already heavily punished after practically the entire Tour, are hardly going to have any rest periods. Already at kilometer 24, is the top of the mythical Ballon d’Alsace, 2nd categorywhile The Croix des Moinats and the Col de Grosse Pierreboth also from 2ndare crowned at kilometers 56 and 64. It doesn’t take long for the Col de La Schulucht, 3rdprelude to a very hard ending, with the Little Ballon and the platzerwaselof 1stin the last 30 kilometers of the race.

The Petit Ballon is going to mean for the runners an effort of 9.3 kilometers of ascent, with an average gradient of 8.1%; the Platzerwasel, the last great port of this Tour. It has 7.1 kilometers, at 8.4% on average.

As has been said, the stage must clear up any doubts related to the general classification, before the last day, that of the Champs-Élysées, where the sprinters will try to achieve perhaps the most prestigious victory of the year for them.
