Surne Bilbao Basket will play the FIBA ​​Europe Cup in the 2023-24 season, the Bilbao club announced this Thursday. The FIBA ​​Europe Cup is the second most important competition organized by FIBA, after the Champions League. In addition to them, there are also the Euroleague and the Eurocup. In its history, Bilbao Basket has played once in the Euroleague (in the 2011-12 season), seven times in the Eurocup and twice in the Champions League.

At the moment, there are 13 confirmed teams out of the 40 that have qualified directly for the regular phase of the FIBA Europe Cup 2023-2024which will begin with a group stage of four teams, and is waiting to know the format of the subsequent competition phases.

Besides of Bilbao Basketthe champion of the last edition, the Anwil Wloclawek (Poland), and these clubs: Bahcesehir (Türkiye), nymburk (Czech Republic), gravelines (France), Hapoel Galil Elion (Israel), Niners Chemnitz (Germany), Spojnia Stargard (Poland), Balkan (Bulgaria), Alba Fehervar (Hungary), leiden (Netherlands), Sporting Portugal (Portugal) and Sibiu (Romania).

20 more participants will come from among the teams that do not pass the Champions League qualifying round, and the remaining seven from each of the seven qualifying rounds, which will take place from October 3 to 5.

Besides of Anwil Wloclawekthe teams that have been proclaimed champions of the FIBA ​​Europe Cup are the reyer venezia and the Dynamo Sassari (Italy), the Nanterre (France), the Skyliners Frankfurt (Germany), the Bahcesehir (Türkiye) and the Ironi Ness Ziona (Israel).
