Roman Kostomarov said that it is not easy for him to adapt to a new life with prostheses
Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov spoke about adapting to life with prostheses. The athlete spoke on his page on the social network TenChat.
“We are adapting to a new life. Of course, all this is not at all easy. Sometimes you want to return everything back, but we understand that this is impossible. What to do – we are placed in such conditions today, ”said Kostomarov, thanking everyone who supports him.
On July 6, Kostomarov was discharged from the hospital. According to the Telegram channel “112”, the figure skater was given temporary prostheses, but individual and modern ones have already been ordered.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to the prolonged connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand and several fingers of the left.
