Rafa Benítez blames embezzlement for bad Everton streak

Everton’s stage in the Premier League is terrible. If the sequence of eight games without a victory in the competition was not enough, this Wednesday the team was thrashed at home by their biggest rivals Liverpool. In a press conference after the game, coach Rafael Benítez tried to justify the bad moment.

”We have to compare this team, missing three key players, with other teams. We played without Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison for a while and they were last year’s top scorers. If you miss these players and make mistakes in defense, you will lose games, as we are losing,” he explained.

With the defeat by 4-1 on Wednesday, the team is parked in the 15 points added up, in 14th place. The next match will be against Arsenal, at home, this Monday.

”We have to make sure that these players who are coming back are mentally recovered, we have to do that and we did very well,” said Benítez.
