Inter Miami owner Beckham says Messi’s dream has come true
Inter Miami owner David Beckham commented on Instagram (social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) transfer Argentine Lionel Messi to the club.
The former England international has posted a picture of himself with the striker in the club’s jersey. “The dream has become a reality,” he said.
Beckham also accompanied the post with the goat emoji. The name of the animal in English is goat, which is consonant with the abbreviation GOAT (Greatest Of All Time – “greatest of all time”).
On July 15, the North American Major League Soccer (MLS) club officially announced the transfer of Messi. The agreement with the 36-year-old forward runs until the end of the 2025 season.
Messi announced the transfer of Inter Miami on June 7. According to Marca, he will earn 50-60 million dollars a year.
Since 2021, the Argentine has played for Paris Saint-Germain. His contract with the Parisians ran until June 2023 with the option of a one-season extension. Before that, the striker played for Barcelona. As part of the Catalans, he won the Spanish championship ten times and won the Champions League four times.
