Poels is crowned at Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc; Vingegaard and Pogacar reach the finish line together

the dutch Wout Poels successfully culminated a long break in the second alpine stage of the Tour de France, the 15th of the editionwhile the Danish Jonas Vingegaard kept the yellow jersey ahead of the slovenian Tadej Pogacar and from Spanish carlos rodriguezwho saved his third place after being stalked by the British adam yates.
The day that ended in summit of the Bettexof the first category, had little battle in the fight for the yellow jersey, in which Vingegaard resisted Pogacar’s only attack and gave up sprinting at the finish linein which they entered together practically even and still separated by 10 seconds overall.
The excitement was in the fight for third place, in which Adam Yates started fifth with a deficit of 37 seconds with respect to Rodríguez and attacked on the last climb, which he entered with an advantage of 18 seconds.
The Spaniard, winner on Saturday in morzinewas forced to defend himself, despite the fact that he distanced the Australian more Jai Hindleywho was a second behind and who entered 1:16 minutes after the Ineos leader.
Rodríguez remains third, now 5:21 behind Vingegaard, while Yates is fourth, 19 seconds behind the Spaniard and Hindley moves to fifth place, 1:17 from the podium.
