Laguardia says goodbye to Alavés and announces his retirement

Víctor Laguardia retires from professional football. The player has announced his withdrawal by means of a letter in which he said goodbye to Alavés and football. The footballer from Zaragoza will offer a farewell conference on July 18as confirmed by Alavés.
“I am about to write these words for which one is hardly prepared. Because you never expect to pronounce them. Because today the day has come to announce that the decision has been made: I am going to retire from soccer as a professional player. And here I see myself, facing a blank piece of paper and a difficult, but well-considered farewell,” Laguardia wrote at the beginning of his letter.
Then he referred to Alavés, his last club, which he joined in 2014: “In 2014 I landed at Deportivo Alavés taking a new step in my career and I never thought it would be the final one. Over time I have built my house here. Simply because you made this my home. I want to give the thanks to all the people who during this beautiful path you have accompanied me Together we have honored this club. Colleagues, workers and, above all, the fans, you have made Víctor Laguardia the player and person he has been in this long and happy stage”.
Finally, Laguardia concluded his farewell letter as follows: “It’s time to step aside. And I do it with the greatest pride for what I have around me, for what I have experienced in these years in Vitoria-Gasteiz and for what it means to have been able to represent this centenary club in a little piece of its history. Because I would not understand my life without Deportivo Alavés and I hope I have shown it at this stage as an albiazul. Be clear that I will continue to do it from wherever it is my turn. I will always be one of you. That is the path I have chosen. Whoops Alavés!!”.
