Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev during a press conference commented on reaching his debut semi-final at Wimbledon. His words leads “Championship”.
“There was a moment in the match when I completely lost the game, and he played well. I started to sink, I started to make a lot of mistakes. And from the tie-break, I already played amazingly. I am very pleased,” said the athlete. He added that he initially did not want to bring the match to the fifth set.
In the quarterfinals of Wimbledon 2023, Medvedev was stronger than the American Christopher Eubanks. He beat him in five sets with a score of 6:4, 1:6, 4:6, 7:6 (7:4), 6:2. The meeting lasted 2 hours and 57 minutes. In the semi-final, the Russian will play the winner of the match between the Spaniard Carlos Alcaras and the Dane Holger Rune.
Reaching the semifinals was Medvedev’s best result at Wimbledon. Previously, he only advanced to the fourth round in 2021.
