Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva has been punished for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 2023 Wimbledon fourth round match. It is reported by Sky Sports.

According to the source, the 16-year-old athlete was fined $8,000. The reason was that Andreeva threw the racket on the court at the end of the third set.

On July 11, Andreeva spoke about the prize money at Wimbledon. For her performance at the tournament, the Russian woman will receive 207 thousand pounds sterling.

On July 10, Andreeva lost to American Madison Keys in the 1/8 final match of the tournament. The meeting ended with the score 6:3, 6:7 (4:7), 2:6. In the final game of the third set, Andreeva received a penalty point for throwing a racket. The Russian woman tried to explain to the referee that she fell on the court and therefore dropped her racket, that is, she did not do it on purpose.
