Nine days from Women’s World Cupright-back Lucy Bronze criticized the decision of the English Football Association not to pay a bonus, in addition to the tournament prize money, to the athletes who will represent the country in this year’s World Cup, which starts on July 20, in Australia and New Zealand.
So far, the bonus exists only for the England men’s team, a fact that does not please the player.
“It’s very frustrating, but I think that’s been the case predominantly in women’s football. As a team we’re always pushing discreetly; it’s only just been done more publicly,” explained the defender in an interview with the English newspaper. The Telegraph.
The side added: “People are aware of this, but it’s something we’ve always had to do as players. I believe the goal for athletes and everyone involved in the women’s soccer is to raise the bar and push the ceiling, and not want them to limit our game”.

The defender of the England national team and the Barcelona, finally, still assessed that women’s football is ready for an evolution. “We have to raise the ceiling, we have to make sure we leave this sport in a better place than we found it.”
England, reigning champions of the eurocup and one of the favorites for the title, is in Group D of the World Cup, along with China, Denmark and Haiti. The English debut in the tournament takes place against the Haitians, on the 22nd, at 6:30 am (Brasรญlia time).
