He Bidasoa Irun will not play the EHF European League in the 2023-24 season, as reported by the Gipuzkoan club on Tuesday. Bidasoa, fourth in the Liga Plenitude ASOBAL in the 2022-23 campaign, could not get the European place through the competition, and he had requested an invitation, but the EHF has not granted it.
In this context, the EHF has promoted a change in the registration rules for European competitions, with the aim of prioritizing the presence of the greatest number of countries. Thus, Bidasoa, like the rest of the clubs that were pending an invitation, has finally been left out of the EHF European League.
Through a brief note posted on its website, Bidasoa thanked “all the people and organizations that have collaborated to speed up this path”, and specified that the team and the club as a whole are already preparing the return to work, to try to fight again for the European positions.
