Neymar worries about physical test at PSG and is still not 100%, says newspaper

Neymar’s physical condition in the midst of yet another recovery from injury is a cause for concern behind the scenes of the Paris Saint Germain. According to the French newspaper The teamthe Brazilian star is far from being 100% recovered from the ankle injury that required surgery and the player’s first physical tests after the squad’s re-introduction are worrying.

The PSG squad will train on the lawn this Tuesday, but the expectation is that Neymar will not train with the ball at this time. The Brazilian hasn’t been on the pitch since February 19, in a 4-3 victory over Lille, when he injured his right ankle and needed surgery.

Under the command of Luis Enrique, who was recently presented as the new PSG coach, it is still unclear what role Neymar will play in the squad. The Brazilian has a contract with the Parisian club until June 2027, but his future with the team is uncertain and a sale this summer is not ruled out.

The number of injuries and Neymar’s lack of productivity in recent seasons is a concern for the Parisian team, which saw the star play just 29 games in 2022-23. These striker absences have been recurring in other years, as Neymar only participated in 28 games in the 2021-22 season, 31 in 2020-21 and 27 in 2019-20.
