Former Dutch, Manchester United and Ajax goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is in intensive care. This is reported in Twitter Ajax Football Club.
The team said that on July 7, the ex-player had a brain hemorrhage. According to De Telegraaf, this happened while on holiday in Croatia. Van der Sar was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
Van der Sar played for Ajax from 1990 to 1999. As part of the club, the goalkeeper won the Dutch championship four times, won the country’s Cup and Super Cup three times, and also won the Champions League, UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup once each.
As part of Manchester United, the goalkeeper played from 2005 to 2011 and won the Champions League and the Club World Cup, won the English Championship four times, took the English League Cup twice, won the FA Super Cup three times.
Together with the Dutch national team, van der Sar twice became the bronze medalist of the European Championship.
