Ajax announced through social networks this Friday that former goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar, an idol of the Dutch club and also of the Manchester Unitedwas hospitalized due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
The former CEO of Ajax is in the ICU (intensive care unit) and his health status is stable so far. The Dutch team also stated that it will bring more information as soon as more details about the former goalkeeper are released.
“Everyone at Ajax wishes Edwin a great and speedy recovery. We are thinking of you,” concluded the club.
On Friday, Edwin van der Sar has had a bleeding around his brain. He’s currently in hospital in the intensive care unit and is in a stable condition.

In May of this year, Van der Sar announced his resignation as CEO of Ajaxafter “an incredibly difficult period” and more than a decade on the club’s board.
“After nearly 11 years on the board of directors, it’s over,” the 52-year-old said in a statement. “We’ve experienced wonderful things together, but this has also been an incredibly difficult period,” added the Dutchman.
