Ex-Corinthians and Flamengo, Paolo Guerrero agrees to leave Racing

The Peruvian striker Paolo Guerreiro agreed, “in common agreement”, his departure from Racing, from Argentina, just six months after being announced, the club said on Thursday.

“Paolo Guerrero left Racing in agreement with the club. Tomorrow (Friday) the contract termination will be signed”, says the statement from Avellaneda’s team.

The 39-year-old forward, top scorer in the history of Peru national team with 43 goals in 103 games, he intended to have more continuity at Racing, but coach Fernando Gago prioritized Maxi Romero and was looking for another center forward for the squad.

The Argentine club said goodbye to Guerrero in a friendly tone: “We thank you for your human and professional quality and your permanent commitment to the team’s service. We wish you success, Paolo, in your future!”

In the six months with the ‘Academia’ shirt, the Peruvian scored three goals in 22 games between Argentine ChampionshipArgentine Cup and Libertadores Cup.

For now, it is not known what would be the new destination of the player, who in Brazil has already played for Corinthians, Flamengo, International e Hawaii.
