Brazilian President Lula da Silva was unhappy with the appointment of Ancelotti as coach of the national team
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva reacted to the appointment of Italian Carlo Ancelotti as head coach of the national team. His words are quoted by SBT News.
Lula da Silva was dissatisfied with the choice of a specialist. “He has never been an Italy coach. Why not solve the problems of Italy, which did not even play at the last World Cup? he said.
The appointment of Ancelotti became known on 5 July. It was noted that the Italian will lead the Brazilian national team in 2024 after the America’s Cup, and until that moment the Brazilian Fernando Dinis will work with the team.
Ancelotti, 64, currently works for Real Madrid. His contract with the team runs until June 2024.
During his career, Ancelotti worked in the Italian Parma, Juventus, Milan and Napoli, the English Chelsea and Everton, the French Paris Saint-Germain and the German Bayern. He is the only coach in history to win the championships in Italy, England, France and Germany.
