CSKA Moscow Communications Director Kirill Breido reacted on Telegram to information about the possible transfer of team defender Mario Fernandez to Zenit St. Petersburg.

“Well then. Now everything has fallen into place, and incomprehensible moments have been explained, ”Breido answered.

On July 6, journalist Ivan Karpov announced the imminent transfer of Fernandez to Zenit. According to him, the Brazilian will sign a two-year contract with the St. Petersburg team with a salary of 2.5 million euros per season, while CSKA offered 1.5 million.

On July 4, Braido spoke about the problems in the negotiations for the return of Fernandez. “Given our exceptional respect and love for Mario, even in the current situation, we are ready to seek a compromise and go forward, which we are doing,” he said.

On April 21, it became known that Fernandez left the Brazilian Internacional ahead of schedule for personal reasons. He played at the club on loan, the rights to the player belong to CSKA.

Fernandez has been playing for CSKA since 2012. As part of the team, he won the Russian championship three times. Since 2017, the defender has been involved in matches for the Russian national team, with which he reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.
