A Brazilian Team women’s soccer team arrived this Wednesday (5th) in Australia, where they will play the world Cupon a plane with a message of support for the women of Iran, who regularly protest the wearing of headscarves after the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022.
The plane landed at Brisbane airport with the phrase in English and in capital letters “NO WOMAN SHOULD BE FORCED TO COVER HER HEAD”.
The outpouring of support comes just days after FIFA announced that eight armbands in defense of different feminist causes, including gender equality and an end to violence, could be worn by female players during the 2023 World Cup, hosted by Australia. and New Zealand, from 20 July to 20 August.

The Brazilians will make their World Cup debut against Panama on July 24, in Adelaide, in Group F, which also includes France and Jamaica.
The death, on September 16, 2022, of a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd, Mahsa Amini, arrested for not respecting the strict dress code imposed on women in Iran, provoked a wave of protests, mainly from women.
The demonstrations were suppressed with extreme violence and hundreds of people died in Iran.
