Barcelona president Laporta says club will pay Messi until 2025
Barcelona President Joan Laporta spoke about the salary of former club player Lionel Messi. His words are reported by Mundo Deportivo.
“He had a salary deferral agreed with the previous board of directors. Payments end in 2025. He is paid rigorously,” Laporta said. He added that these payments will not affect financial fair play.
On June 7, it became known that Messi would continue his career at the American Major League Soccer club Inter Miami. Since 2021, he has played for Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he won the French championship twice.
Messi played for Barcelona for most of his career, from 2005 to 2021. As part of the Catalans, he became the champion of Spain ten times and won the Champions League four times.
