Most Russian citizens prefer non-cash payments, only 32% of respondents always have cash with them, according to a study by the National Financial Research Agency (NAFI) and the VSK Insurance House, cited by RBC.
At the same time, 72% of Russian citizens have the amount of “pocket money” does not exceed 2 thousand rubles.
According to the survey, 68% of respondents use cash payment only if it is not possible to pay for goods with a bank card or transfer. In most cases, this is payment for goods in trade stalls or tents. About 34% of respondents pay in this way. 29% of respondents pay in cash for travel on public transport. When making payments with a courier, 14% of respondents use cash to leave a tip – 12%.
32% of respondents always carry cash with them. Another 31% often leave the house with cash, but can get by with a card. Occasionally, 30% carry money with them, and 7% live practically without cash.
At the same time, in 72% of cases, the amount of pocket money Russians have does not exceed 2,000 rubles. 31% of Russians usually carry no more than 500 rubles, 41% – from 500 rubles. up to 2 thousand rubles. Only 21% of the respondents carry more than 2,000 rubles.
