Zenit football player Andrey Mostovoy said he wants to play in the European Championship
The Russian midfielder of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” Andrey Mostovoy said that he dreams of playing in Europe. His words on Sunday, July 2, are quoted by Match TV.
“My dream is to go to a strong European championship. I hope that everything that is happening in the world will end as soon as possible, we will return to the international arena. I live it, I’ve been doing it since the age of six, ”said the football player.
Mostovoy, 25, has been playing for Zenit since 2019. In the 2019/20 season, he played for Sochi on loan. In the last season of the Russian Premier League, he took part in 23 matches, in which he scored 8 goals and 5 assists.
Earlier, the former player of Manchester United and the Russian national team Andrey Kanchelskis criticized Russian players who do not want to try themselves in Europe. He noted that the limit on legionnaires makes it possible for average Russian players to get dream contracts and no longer think about football.
In March, Mostovoy spoke about the peculiarities of the attitude towards the Russians in the St. Petersburg club. In his opinion, domestic football players, unlike foreign players, have no right to make a mistake.
