Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev called one of the ways to resolve the confrontation in the world a third world war in which there will be no winners, noting that a nuclear apocalypse is not only possible, but also probable. This is stated in an article published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
According to him, one of these methods is the third world war. But it is bad because the winners are not guaranteed further prosperity, Medvedev added.
“Most likely, there will simply be no winners,” he wrote, adding, however, that “such an Apocalypse” is not only possible, but also “quite likely.”
The second way to resolve the confrontation is to search for compromises over a long period of time. According to Medvedev, it is necessary to form a new respectful world order, which will be based on a balance of interests of all countries. But this, he believes, “is likely to take years, perhaps decades.”
“But it’s definitely better than ditching all together on the day of the Apocalypse,” added the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council.
Medvedev also said that Russia would achieve the elimination of the threat of Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
