The women’s teams Italy and Morocco drew 0-0, this Saturday, at the Paolo Mazza stadium. The match was the last friendly for the Italians before Women’s World Cup.
The European team, which played at home, created more chances than the Moroccan team. Despite having dominated the first stage, however, it failed to open the scoring.
In the second half, the Italians returned with more intensity after the substitutions promoted by coach Milena Bertolini and started generating new goal opportunities. However, within the final 45 minutes, they also failed to score.
The Women’s World Cup will start on the 20th of July in Australia and New Zealand. The Italians are in Group G, along with Sweden, Argentina and South Africa, and will face the Argentines in the debut, on July 24th.
The Moroccan team, in turn, is in Group H, which also includes Germany, Colombia and South Korea. One of these selections may even be the opponent of the Brazil no mata-mata.
Morocco debuts in the Women’s World Cup against the Germans, also on the 24th. Before that, it will play two more friendlies. On the 5th, they face Switzerland and, on the 16th, they face Jamaica.
