Russian fighter Pyotr Yan said that he will hold the next fight in the UFC at the end of 2023
Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Pyotr Yan has announced the timing of his next fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). His words on Saturday, July 1, leads Sport24.
“Now everything is fine with health. I think at the end [2023] I will fight for a year. While there is no understanding with whom. There are no negotiations either,” Yang said.
On May 1, Yang spoke about the difficulties after three consecutive losses in the UFC. According to the 30-year-old athlete, an unsuccessful streak began in his career, but in order to return to the previous level, he needs to work.
In March of this year, at the UFC Fight Night 221 tournament in Las Vegas, Jan lost to the Georgian Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision. The defeat was the third in a row for the domestic fighter. After that, the Russian admitted that he needed to reboot and make adjustments to the preparation.
Yang is a former UFC bantamweight champion. In total, the 30-year-old athlete has 16 victories with five defeats in his career.
