They collect bags on beaches and rivers. They go through the process of washing and drying. They are stretched and the fabric is formed by hand. This process is carried out by a group of students from the Faculty of Economics of the Laica Vicente Rocafuerte University in Guayaquil.

Students of the second and third semesters of the Communication Studies major have designed a toy that is not only environmentally friendly, but also improves cognitive and social skills for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

The toy is called rainbow toys And that would cost between 5 and 8 dollars. They hope that the project will reach toy stores.

And there was also a candle made from oils that are reused for frying food. This goes through filtration and elements like turmeric, chocolate and cinnamon are incorporated.

“The purpose of the project is to start an awareness campaign so that waste does not end up in the rivers,” points out Gabriela Mendiola, a student of the first semester of social sciences and law.

In this space, students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, through the careers of economics, law, communication and psychology of the University Laica Vicente Rocafuerte in Guayaquil, promoted sustainable initiatives and the circular economy.
