Euskaraz irakurri: Fran Garagarza izango da Espanyol taldeko kirol zuzendaria

Fran Garagarza reached an agreement this Monday with Espanyol to be the new blue and white sports director for the next four seasonsas announced by the Catalan entity through a statement.

Garagarza worked, until now, as a technical advisor for Julen Lopetegui in the English Wolverhampton Wanderers, a club from which he has disassociated himself. Previously he had been Eibar’s sports director for ten years.

The arrival of Garagarza, born in the Gipuzkoan town of Mutriku 57 years ago, has the approval of the blue and white president, Chen Yansheng. The former Eibar player thus replaces the dismissed Domingo Catoira, whose goodbye was made official two weeks ago.

Objective: return to First Division

The Gipuzkoan faces delicate planning ahead of the 2023-24 campaign. The new sports director must combine the preparation of a Squad capable of returning to Primera imminently with the possible exit of some of the bastions of the Catalan bloc.
