Le Parisien: At the 2024 Games in Paris, alcohol will be banned in the stands, with the exception of VIP areas
The organizers of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will ban the consumption of alcohol on the competition grounds and stands. This became known to Le Parisien.
“If the average spectator of the Paris 2024 Olympics planned to have a pint of beer or a glass of wine before taking their seat to watch the long-awaited final, they may be disappointed,” the post reads. It is noted that the exception will be the VIP zone, in which guests will be offered a welcome champagne and a bar service with beer and wines.
The Paris Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The decision on the admission of Russians to the tournament has not yet been made.
Alcohol was freely available at the venues of the London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics. During the Tokyo Games in 2021, drinking alcohol was banned due to the coronavirus pandemic.
