The trophy is awarded to the player who scores the most beautiful goal of the season. A list of 11 goals is drawn up by a group of experts, with the winner chosen by the FIFA jury and by popular vote available on the entity’s website
The award was created in 2009. On that occasion, Cristiano Ronaldo took home the most beautiful goal title of the year. Neymar, still at Santos, was also the winner for the goal scored against Flamengo, in 2011.
The Puskas Award winner will be revealed at The Best FIFA Football Awards, scheduled for January 17, 2022, in Zurich, Switzerland.
