In “Sevastopol” called Ukraine’s call to exclude Russia from FIFA and UEFA nonsense
Sevastopol responded to the call of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) to exclude Russia from the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It is reported by Sport24.
“The position of the club is as follows: we are a subject of the Russian Federation and must integrate into Russian football. What the UAF says is complete blizzard and nonsense, not only I expected this from them, ”said Valery Chaly, general director of Sevastopol.
Earlier, the UAF sent a letter to FIFA and UEFA with a request to exclude the Russian Football Union from the organization. The Ukrainian side was outraged by the attempts to integrate football clubs from the Crimea into the regular national championships of Russia.
On June 6, TASS reported that Sevastopol and Rubin Yalta received licenses to participate in the Second League in the 2023/2024 season. Teams will compete in Group B.
By the UEFA decision of 2014, the Crimean clubs play in a separate league – the Crimean Championship. Teams are prohibited from participating in tournaments of the Russian Football Union.
