Veteran Rafa Benítez, who already commanded Real Madrid (ESP) and Liverpool (ESP), among other teams, will coach Celta de Vigo (ESP). The contract is valid for the next three seasons announced this Friday (23) the Spanish club, which will complete 100 years in August.
“Real Club Celta reached an agreement with Rafa Benítez to manage the team in this very special season and two others”, says the note from the Vigo team.
Celta also recalled that Benítez, 63, is one of the “most successful” Spanish coaches, who has managed “teams of the world’s top shelf in the main European leagues”.
Among his titles are Champions League 2005 for Liverpool and the 2013 Europa League for Chelsea (ING).
Benítez was free on the market since he was fired from Everton (ING) in January 2022.
