O Manchester United announced the hiring of Ralf Rangnick as the new interim coach. The German will lead the English club until the end of this season. After the end of his contract as a coach, Ralf will continue as a consultant for another two years.

“I’m excited to be joining Manchester United and I’m focused on making this a successful season for the club. The cast is full of talent and has a great balance between youth and experience. Furthermore, I hope to support the club’s long-term goals as a consultant,” said the German.

Before signing with the Red Devils, Rangnick was at Lokomotiv Moscow, where he held the post of director. In the role of coach, he worked for several clubs in Germany, such as Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.

“Ralf is one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football. Ralf arrives to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian has had a streak of bad performances this season and was fired after the rout to Watford 4-1.

Now, Rangnick is awaiting work visa authorization to take over the team. Until this is resolved, Michael Carrick will remain coach of United.
