“I appeal to her conscience. There was not a single night when I slept peacefully. Not one night. My conscience is clear. I have never harmed anyone of my own free will. And I didn’t do it that night, ”said the athlete in prison. The Brazilian noted that he did not know whether the girl’s conscience was clear, but he forgives her.
Earlier, Alves acknowledged the sexual relationship with the alleged victim. At the same time, doctors confirmed that the girl had injuries indicating resistance.
The athlete was arrested on January 20. According to the alleged victim, on December 30 last year, in a nightclub in Barcelona, a football player locked her in a toilet, where he beat and raped her. The 39-year-old athlete faces 4 to 12 years in prison.
